On Sunday 6 August at 9.30am a crane fell from the Marq East construction site onto the completed Arc residential building, prompting the immediate evacuation of Arc and nearby buildings.Police, emergency services, WorkSafe and others are working with Probuild to ensure the safety of residents and to remove the fallen crane.
Frasers Property, on behalf of Probuild, is managing communications with residents and organising housing, transport and essentials for those displaced. Three crane workers were injured, with all now released from hospital. The crane has been stabilised and will be removed in stages this week, which will unavoidably cause further disruption for locals. Residents of Arc, Shore and Watervue are encouraged to register their contact details with the team at the Discovery Point Sales Centre so we can provide assistance and remain in close contact.
The support and patience of Discovery Point residents, retailers and locals has been incredible, and is greatly appreciated by the large crew working around the clock to safely and speedily resolve this situation.
