Frasers Property Australia has taken out the award for Excellence in Masterplanned Communities at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) NSW Awards for Excellence for Fairwater, a thriving sustainable community in the heart of Sydney’s west.
Fairwater, located on Richmond Road in Blacktown, is a superior example of a masterplanned community that encourages residents to interact and connect with their outdoor surrounds and their neighbours.
“From the masterplan phase through to design and construction, a focus on community and the environment has informed our approach at Fairwater. This is a development which will leave a positive legacy in the wider Blacktown area for generations to come and its success is a testament to our integrated team,” Nigel Edgar, General Manager, Residential NSW, Frasers Property Australia says.
“From the beginning, Fairwater has been a family-oriented community. With hundreds of residents having moved in and plenty of amenities on offer, the community is well established and continues to evolve,” says Mr Edgar.
Occupying the site of the former Ashlar Golf Course, Fairwater preserves the exisiting green spaces to enable residents to engage with the beautiful natural surroundings.
When complete, the 38.5 hectare Fairwater community will comprise approximately 1000 homes, all of which will have access to a picturesque outdoor environment that incorporates landscaped parks, lakes and ponds.
There are also boardwalks, a learn-to-ride bike track, play areas for growing families created from natural materials, and a series of pramways and walkways. A water play area has been designed specifically for toddlers.
Fairwater has been designed to make the most of its convenient location, with easy access to major road links and Blacktown train station just a short walk away.
The UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence highlight innovation, sustainability, industry leadership and excellence in urban development.
