NAIDOC Week at Burwood Brickworks

NAIDOC Week 2022 at Burwood Brickworks

Join us at Burwood Brickworks to acknowledge NAIDOC Week 2022, as we celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Australia's First Nations people.

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

Every year we join to acknowledge NAIDOC Week, 3rd to 10th July, to pay respect and give voice to Australia’s traditional custodians. This year we invite you to join us for:

  • A traditional smoking ceremony in the Urban Plaza, followed by a didgeridoo performance and cultural story telling in the centre – 1.00pm Monday 4th July;

  • Enjoy some of the stunning artworks by Indigenous artist Simone Thompson on display in the Living Building Challenge gallery – 28th June to 10th July
