Precinct to offer 7,500sqm of central recreation space.
Brookhaven – Brisbane – 3 August 2017 – Frasers Property Australia has started works on the recreational centrepiece of its 1,500 lot Brookhaven masterplanned community in Logan City.
Construction is now underway on the 7,500sqm parkland, which will form the active green heart of the leafy residential development that is taking shape on a 150ha bushland-fringed parcel at Bahrs Scrub.
The extensive parkland precinct will include picnic structures, green kickabout spaces, an all-ages playground and retained nature play areas.
It will also feature fitness equipment, a half-court basketball court, free Wi-Fi and an informal amphitheatre capable of staging local community events.
Frasers Property Australia’s Queensland Residential General Manager Cameron Leggatt said the parkland would inspire and support active and healthy lifestyles for Brookhaven’s residents.
Mr Leggatt said the park was expected to be complete by the time the community’s first residents moved in later in the year.
“This will be the first major amenity for our residents at Brookhaven, and we’re certain that it will be well utilised by people of all ages,” he said.
“As the focal point of the community, it will provide lush and expansive open and natural space for games, exercise, relaxation and social get-togethers.”
Logan City Mayor, Luke Smith, said the parkland was a wonderful recreational, social and environmental asset for Brookhaven and the surrounding community.
“It will be the active heart of this development that will bring residents together and encourage healthy and balanced lifestyles,” Mayor Smith said.
“Shared spaces like this one are vital to our growing communities, and I am proud to see developers such as Frasers Property keeping the community at the forefront and focusing on the importance of open space.”
Division 4 Councillor, Laurie Koranski said the park would be a great asset to the city and would offer something to all residents.
“Whether it’s fitness, having a community space or enjoying the overall vibe of a park, this parkland will offer something for everyone in our community,” Cr Koranski said.
“I am looking forward to seeing the Brookhaven community take shape around this wonderful and thoughtfully designed shared space.”
Brookhaven is located just south of the Beenleigh CBD and 5.4km from the M1 Motorway.
