Mindfulness gives kids in isolated communities the tools they need
Tips for healthy living with a good dose of fun enjoyed by all
MELBOURNE, 15 MARCH 2018 – More than 800 people turned out in perfect conditions on Sunday 11 March to enjoy a neighbourhood Block Party at Berwick Waters, a development by Frasers Property Australia and Mondous Property Australia.
The Block Party was focussed on promoting education around healthy lifestyles for people moving into Berwick Waters, and residents and neighbours came out in droves to take part in yoga and fitness sessions, peruse market stalls and pick up some cooking tips.
There was something for the kids too with a meet and greet with Paddington Bear, Lego workshops, petting zoo and pony rides. Local Scouts kept hungry crowds fed with a fundraising sausage sizzle.
“It was a real festival atmosphere and so great to see the residents getting together, meeting each other and really getting involved in their community,” said Frasers Property Australia’s Sarah Bloom, General Manager – Residential, Victoria.
“The Block Party theme was “The elements of a great life” and I think everyone who attended picked up some great tips while having fun.”
Presenters on the day, including Live Life Get Active Ambassador and co-director, Olympian Jane Flemming, and representatives from mindfulness education organisation Smiling Mind were on hand to talk about free fitness camps available at Berwick Waters and mindfulness in schools.
Frasers Property will post talks from key presenters on the day to its Berwick Waters website for those who were unable to attend. Visit berwickwaters.com.au or Facebook.com/BerwickWaters.
The event was held at Berwick Waters display village on Springbrook Drive, located off Honour Avenue.
The Berwick Waters sales office is at 2 Viewbank Road, Clyde North, and is open daily from 11am to 5pm. Call 13 38 38 or visit www.berwickwaters.com.au for more information.
