Habour Boulevard Update

The Harbour Boulevard / Shellharbour Road / Addison Street intersection is on track to open on Friday 28th September 2018. Before the road is opened, we will provide some more information about how the traffic, pedestrian and cyclist movements work so that you know what to expect when you use the new intersection for the first time.

The Southern extension of Harbour Boulevard is complete and now intersects with Bass Point Tourist Road. This portion of the road will open to the public when the Harbour Boulevard / Shellharbour Road / Addison Street intersection opens, currently programmed for Friday 28th September 2018.

On the same day, the central portion of Bass Point Tourist Road will be closed. This will enable the construction of future subdivision stages both north and south of the boat harbour entrance and removal of the existing road pavement and culverts to enable completion of the boat harbour entrance works. The South Beach carpark and The Shallows carpark will still be accessible from either end of Bass Point Tourist Road during this period.

In summary, Friday 28th September 2018 remains our target date to:

• Open the Harbour Boulevard / Shellharbour Road / Addison Street intersection;
• Open the southern extension of Harbour Boulevard to connect with Bass Point Tourist Road just south of the boat harbour entrance; and
• Close the central portion of Bass Point Tourist Road.

We have made the decision to make all changes to the road network on the one day to reduce confusion around the new route to Bass Point, and to mitigate against any potential safety risks with haulage of large rock for the boat harbour works required in September at the southern end of Harbour Boulevard.

The plan below shows how the road network will be configured when these works are completed.

We appreciate your continued patience as we complete these important road projects, and look forward to opening the new entrance to The Waterfront, Shell Cove.
