Festive Cheer Lights Up Port Coogee at Christmas Celebration
Port Coogee came alive with the festive spirit on Friday, 6th December, as families and friends gathered to enjoy a spectacular Christmas celebration by the water. Hosted by Frasers Property Australia, the event captured the magic of the season and brought the community together for an evening of joy, connection, and holiday cheer.
A Coastal Christmas Like No Other
From Sam the Marina Manager delivering Santa by boat to the festive markets and entertainment, this year’s event was a true community effort. Volunteers, residents, and commercial stakeholders all played vital roles in creating an unforgettable experience. A special thanks goes to the Port Coogee Community Association, and the support from the City of Cockburn, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive celebration.
The regular monthly food trucks also joined in the festivities, serving up yummy meals as attendees enjoyed the festive atmosphere along Chieftain Esplanade.
A Night of Family Fun
The event featured a wide array of activities designed to delight attendees of all ages. Children’s laughter echoed through the air as they enjoyed craft stations, face painting, and a special Christmas treasure hunt. Meanwhile, adults soaked in the festive atmosphere, relaxing with live music from the Godleman Duo featuring Ali Hill.
Santa Claus made a grand entrance by boat, much to the delight of young attendees. Santa’s Grotto was bustling with eager children sharing their Christmas wishes, creating cherished memories for families.
Looking Ahead
Excitingly, next year’s event will move to the new waterfront park, eliminating the need for road closures and enabling a sustainable event program for years to come. The enhanced location promises to take the festivities to new heights while continuing to foster the strong sense of community that defines Port Coogee.
