Clean Up Australia Day at Brookhaven – An annual collective effort

Thank you to all our amazing residents who came out and cleaned up our beautiful community, parks, footpaths, bike trails, and streetscapes. Twenty-six massive bags of rubbish are now out of our environment. This is such a huge effort every year, Brookhaven. Well done!
Thank you again to Councillor Tony Hall for coming for 5 years now, and to Melissa McMahon MP for bringing her staff and Youth Advisory team along again this year.
A big shout-out to our Brookhaven Collective team for being site leaders as we spread out across the estate.
It was so fantastic to see familiar faces, new faces, and so many kids too. We love seeing our event grow each year.
Thank you also to our residents who beeped and gave supportive messages to our clean-up teams while we were out and about, and to those who just jumped in on the clean-up action.
Thank you to the Brookhaven Bean Café for our delicious morning tea and their support each year, and to the Beenleigh District Men’s Shed for cooking the appreciation BBQ.
One final bit of feedback: Please talk to our young residents at bus stops or parks about putting rubbish in the bins and everyone cleaning up after parties. There were so many lolly wrappers, confetti, and lunchbox snack packets still around. Let’s keep our estate clean.
