Frasers Property Privacy Collection Notice
Frasers Property Australia collects certain personal information as part of the sale of real estate to enable us to prepare the contract for sale of the specified property, send you communications that are necessary and related to the sale of that property, and conduct customer due diligence in accordance with requirements under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). This Collection Notice details the purposes for which we collect your personal information, the third parties to whom we disclose personal information and identification verification requests we make to our verification service provider, and our verification service provider makes to credit reporting bodies.
1 What information we collect
We are collecting the following personal information about you: your name, date of birth, email address, mailing address, telephone number and other contact details.
2 How we collect your information
We generally collect personal information directly from you, such as when you visit our website, complete a Sales Advice or otherwise contact and correspond with us (eg over the phone, via email or in person). As part of our customer due diligence process, we will collect your full name, date of birth and address and then direct you to our verification service provider’s digital platform where you will upload your identity documentation directly. Where it is not practicable to collect personal information from you, we may also collect personal information from publicly available sources of information, and, where you have provided your consent, from third parties (such as your employer, any other organisation with whom you have any dealings, credit reporting bodies, or from publicly maintained records).
3 Verification requirements under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006
As part of verifying your identity, we may use a verification service provider to undertake customer identity verification on our behalf. We may make the request for the reason of verifying your identity in order to comply with our customer due diligence obligations before providing our services to you. We will disclose your full name, residential address and date of birth to our verification service provider, and you will be directed to the verification service provider’s platform to upload your identity documentation directly. The verification service provider may, on our behalf, make a verification request to a credit reporting body to provide an assessment of whether the personal information disclosed matches (in whole or in part) personal information held by the credit reporting body. The credit reporting body may prepare and provide to us, or our verification service provider, such an assessment. In preparing that assessment, the credit reporting body may use the personal information about you, together with personal information held by the body that is the names, residential addresses and dates of birth of other individuals, for the purpose of preparing the assessment.
4 What happens if we do not collect your information
If we are not provided, or authorised to collect, the personal information we have requested, we may not be able to provide you with products, services and assistance to the extent that they require us to collect, use or disclose personal information.
5 To whom we disclose your information
We may also disclose your personal information to third parties, including: (a) our related companies; (b) our verification service provider for the purposes of identity verification; (c) credit reporting bodies, through our verification service provider, as outlined in section 3 above; and (d) contractors providing services to us. We may also disclose your personal information where we are required or authorised by Australian law to do so.
