Sydney’s most significant CBD development in over a decade

Central Place Sydney will be Sydney’s most significant CBD development in over a decade, providing employment space critical to the state’s economic recovery. The partnership’s proposal is for a circa $2.5 billion investment within the city’s new “Tech Central”, that will transform the western edge of Central Station. The proposal includes: 

  • up to 150,000 square metres of workspace across two towers and a podium building, underpinning the delivery of the Sydney Innovation and Technology Precinct 

  • an Integrated Distribution Facility that unlocks future over-station development, facilitating the renewal of Central station 

  • comprehensive public realm improvements that will redefine the experience of over 20 million pedestrians every year.


A boost to the NSW economy

Central Place Sydney will inject a boost to the NSW economy and underpin global competitiveness of Sydney into the future. The project will: 

  • contribute over $3 billion value add to the NSW economy each year 

  • accommodate over 10,000 jobs 

  • create over 700 construction jobs 

  • deliver critical servicing infrastructure to unlock future over station development 

  • revitalise one of the busiest public realms in the CBD. 

A new civic place that extends into the workplace

The design of Central Place Sydney expands and activates Henry Deane Plaza, which complements the City of Sydney’s proposal to create a third new major civic square. This third major civic space will join Circular Quay and Martin Place along the spine of Sydney’s CBD and Central Place Sydney will interface with the southern boundary of the new enlarged civic space. The project will deliver a powerful narrative by establishing a new civic place that extends into the workplace, blurring the lines between public and private, while producing a highly vibrant and diversified experience.
