Discovery Point wins 2 UDIA awards!

Australand’s Discovery Point development wins the Masterplanned Development category as well as winning Excellence in Sustainable Development at the 2015 Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) NSW Austral Bricks Awards for Excellence.

These awards recognise Australand’s expertise in creating and delivering high quality masterplanned communities in strategic locations.

Australand NSW Residential Division General Manager Nigel Edgar said the award is testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team responsible for the creation and marketing of Discovery Point.

“The vision for Discovery Point was to not only create a vibrant residential neighbourhood but a lifestyle destination that was contemporary, sustainable and would appeal to people at any stage of their life,” Mr Edgar said.

“Situated in Sydney’s inner south, Discovery Point is a new residential neighbourhood and activated community, just 10km from Sydney’s CBD and 2km from Sydney Airport, offering residents a unique blend of transport connectivity, river frontage, three hectares of parks and gardens as well as retail amenity.”

Australand engaged a selection of top tier architectural practices including Bates Smart, Cox Richardson, PTW and Group GSA to ensure a range of industry leading sustainable lifestyle features and a diversity in architectural forms.

Today, Discovery Point is a well-established vibrant neighbourhood with a sense of community that continues to evolve and is evident by the growing number of residents engaging in the regular events and social gatherings that now take place.

The UDIA NSW Austral Bricks Awards for Excellence are designed to highlight innovation, sustainability, industry leadership and recognise excellence in urban development across NSW and the ACT.
