Cycling offers family a fun activity to do together Foster family make the most of outdoor opportunities at The Grove

Family cycles as a way to stay fit while having fun
The Grove, Tarneit, perfectly positioned for cycling

For the Foster family, getting out and about and active on their bikes is a favourite activity in their new community at The Grove in Tarneit, Victoria.
Wayne and Lois Foster and their three children, Issac, 13, Jackson and Elliott, both aged 11, moved into Frasers Property Australia’s The Grove development two years ago and are enjoying watching the new community grow around them.

For the family, part of the appeal of The Grove is the new friendships and connections they are making but the community is also providing them the opportunity to get outdoors for fitness and fun.

“We cycle around The Grove as a family at least once a month, sometimes more often if the weather is nice and sunny,” says Lois.

“It’s an activity we can enjoy as a family. We love cycling because it’s also a way we can get to where we want to go faster, while at the same time providing an activity that improves our fitness.”

Lois says the family rides for up to five kilometres during outings and is looking forward to being able to ride further once construction work is all complete at The Grove.

“It will be great once all the pathways are finished and I hope that cycling can be made even easier down the track with good signage, shared pathways or even separated paths just for cyclists,” she says.

The Grove’s location makes it the ideal place to reap all the benefits cycling has to offer. Bounded by Davis Creek and Werribee River, the masterplan for The Grove includes kilometres of interconnected cycling and walking paths. The paths will link the waterways to outdoor parks and play spaces, a future town centre, schools and community facilities.

Lois says she, and the rest of the family, is looking forward to more homes, the planned town centre and other community facilities being established at The Grove. She says it’s exciting to watch the community develop.

“Some people might feel like it’s a daunting experience to buy into a new development, but it’s been so exciting and invigorating watching how the new community is growing here and being a part of it all.

“As the houses are being established and the trees and greenery, so are our friendships and networks within the community,” she says.

The community is already well-established at The Grove with more than 850 land lots sold and new residents settled in. Frasers Property has plans for a further 1,780 residential land lots.
