Join us for a FREE series of six workshops held at the Baldivis Community Garden!
The City of Rockingham has announced the fourth Grow.Cook.Eat series as part of the Grow It Local program. Grow.Cook.Eat is a series of six workshops held over six weeks at our very own Baldivis Community Garden!
The workshops will be facilitated by local nutritionist Nicole Ingram. Each session will be different and include gardening and nutrition components with a few sessions including hands-on cooking.

Session 1: Tuesday, 2nd November 2021
Garden Design: How and where to start. Working with what you've got and an introduction to the benefits of healthy eating.
Session 2: Tuesday, 9th November 2021
Growing from seeds. The seed cycle: How to plant, raise, collect and store seeds. Explore the wonderful health benefits of eating seeds, nuts and legumes.
Session 3: Tuesday, 16th November 2021
Growing veggies from seedlings: When to plant and how to care for them. Learn about reading food labels and how to make the best choice when shopping.
Session 4: Tuesday, 23rd November 2021
Container growing: How to grow veggies in pots and safe food storage.
Session 5: Tuesday, 30th November 2021
Improving your soil: Composting and worm farms. Explore the many ways to reduce food waste in your home and tips to shopping smart.
Session 6: Tuesday, 6th December 2021
Water wise gardening: Preparing for summer. This final session will also celebrate the past six weeks with a healthy barbecue for everyone to enjoy, plus healthy entertaining ideas!
