Preparing for your move

The first step to take when planning a move is to compile a thorough checklist of things to go through.

The following information provides you with the essentials to get started and ready to join the Bradmill Yarraville Community.

We know planning a move can be overwhelming so we've taken some of that stress away by putting together a quick checklist to make sure no task is left behind.

Getting connected

Electricity

Before you move into your property, you will need to connect your electricity with your preferred provider.

Phone, Internet & TV

Your property is Opticomm (fibre connection provider) ready! Opticomm has pre-installed the Optic Network Terminal (ONT) in your residence. It has been tested and commissioned. To arrange connection, reach out to your preferred retail service provider (RSP). Refer to Opticomm’s website to view a list of RSP’s.

Please note: The New Development Charge has already been paid by Frasers Property. You are not required to pay this charge to your internet retailer.

Waste & Recycling Guidelines

To help keep our community clean and tidy, please follow these simple bin and waste disposal rules:

Bin Calendar

Red Lid (General Rubbish)
Collection starts 26 November 2025. The bin truck will collect every Wednesday.

Yellow Lid (Mixed Recycling)
Collection starts 26 November 2025. The bin truck will collect every second Wednesday (fortnightly).

Maroon Lid (Food and Garden Organics)
Collection starts 3 December 2025. The bin truck will collect on the first Wednesday of each month.

Putting Your Bin Out for Collection
  • Bins out
Bins must be out by 5.30am on the day of collection. You must place your bins on the kerb or on the nature strip half a metre apart, and allow one metre at either end to allow for safe collection. It is important that bins are clear of trees, poles, cars and any other obstacle that may prevent the collection truck from servicing your bin.
  • Overfilled bins
It is important not to overfill your bin.  Generally speaking, if you cannot close your bin lid fully, you have overfilled your bin.
If moving your bin out to the kerb on collection night is difficult due to its weight, it may be too heavy for our collection trucks as well.
Do not place waste beside or on top of your bin as it will not be collected.
If your bin is overfilled it may not be serviced.
    Bin
We recommend that you put your bins out the night before collection after 6pm, to allow for peak traffic and pedestrian flows to subside.
If your bin is not put out on time, or if they are not placed appropriately, your rubbish will not be collected until your next scheduled collection service.
  • Bins In
Every effort must be made to return bins to properties by 6pm on the day of collection to keep your street clear of obstacles.

Please be advised that the current waste bins provided on the property will be replaced with Council-issued bins. This transition is being coordinated to ensure compliance with Council waste-management requirements.

At this stage, no action is required from homeowners. Once the Council confirms delivery dates and final arrangements, we will provide detailed instructions, including:

  • When the existing bins will be collected.
  • Where the new Council bins will be placed.
  • How to correctly use and identify the new bins.
  • Any updated waste-collection schedules or guidelines.

Please continue using the current bins as normal until further notice. We will issue additional communication as soon as the Council finalises the rollout timeline.

If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to contact the Customer Care team.

General rubbish bins

What goes into your general rubbish bin?
The contents of your general rubbish (red lidded) bin are sent to landfill.
It is important that we all do our part to reduce waste as much as possible, and do not place any recyclable or compostable items in the general rubbish bin, so that valuable resources do not go to waste.
Below is a list of some items that can and cannot be placed in your general waste bin.

Yes No
  • Soft plastics, wrappers and plastic bags
  • Single use coffee cups
  • Disposable nappies
  • Broken kitchenware like glasses and plates
  • Broken cookware like Pyrex dishes
