Shell Cove Construction Update - The Peninsula

11 October 2023
The Peninsula

Aerial View Over To South Beach

Welcome to the latest construction update.

We’re excited to keep you informed about how the new precinct is progressing, give you insights into the construction process and ensure you’re up to date with the development of your new community.

The stormwater network is close to completion with two large gross pollutant tanks (GPT) installed adjacent to the harbour. Stormwater captured from the street drainage network is directed to the GPTs after which the GPTs remove litter, organic matter and some soils prior to the stormwater entering the harbour.

Sydney Water are approximately halfway through the construction of the sewer pump station. The pump station is likely to be completed early to mid-2024. The final approvals for the sewer and potable water were received recently with construction of these critical servicing items scheduled to commence in the coming week.

The electrical and communications (NBN) contractors are continuing with the installation of these servicing assets.

The civil contractor has completed the sandstone retaining walls that define the boundaries of the subdivision area from the Marina Foreshore. These walls not only serve as functional structures but also contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the development. Fabrication of the vertical blade fence that is to be fixed to the sandstone has commenced, the fabrication and installation of the fence is likely to take several months due to the intricate fencing design and the almost 200m of fence that will be provided.

Landscaping adjacent to Keith Hockey Oval are underway with 12 Banksia Trees planted and topsoil placement to commence. Footpath connections to Shellharbour South Beach are complete and will be open to the public shortly.

We anticipate that settlement will take place in late Quarter 1 of 2024.
