SYDNEY, APRIL 2018  Jamie Porcella had two reasons to pop champagne on her recent birthday. Confirming the purchase of a new three-bedroom apartment, with her fiancé Zoran, was a novel way to celebrate.

Ms Porcella, 39, says that aside from the “new apartment contract party” the couple shared, their latest investment property had more “emotional pull” than others they’d previously made. The pair purchased a three-bedroom, second story luxury apartment by Frasers Property within AQUA at The Waterfront, Shell Cove.

“Life is too short not to enjoy. We’re considering now if we should change our plans from investing in the site and instead set up home at Shell Cove,” Ms Porcella said.

“We want to frequent nice restaurants, cafes and the tavern with friends. We love Illawarra’s beaches, taking the dogs out walking and as more and more friends are choosing to live in Shell Cove, we don’t want to miss all the fun on the marina. A new boat might even be on the cards!”

“Living in a waterfront property has always been a long term goal for us. This apartment purchase has gone one better – giving us a front row seat to a world class marina. We feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to be a part of it,” she said.

Zoran, who runs a wholesale business in Wollongong, and Jamie, a local credit union employee, live 4km away in Warilla. Being former small business owners dictates an interest in maximising business opportunities in Shell Cove to extend their community links.

“We’d consider running a café or restaurant in Shell Cove’s retail precinct. We’re not stressed with the fluency of infrastructure arriving. Our research shows that Shell Cove has been in the planning pipeline for over 30 years and will be set up to thrive!”

Friends, financial security and future walks in Shell Cove with their dogs, Oodle, Puppet and Fudge aren’t all Ms Porcella looks forward to.

“The design of the apartments by renowned architects and the luxury finishes, including the colour matching, fittings and fixtures, are set to be divine,” she said.

AQUA at The Waterfront, Shell Cove, is on the NSW south coast. Construction of a new boat harbour and 270 floating-berth marina is already under way, The Waterfront community – a joint development between Frasers Property Australia and Shellharbour City Council – will be a regional hub with recreational boating facilities, providing a major tourism boost for NSW.

Homes in Shell Cove were optioned by ballot draws to give those interested a fair chance at securing a new property.
