Buyers rush to secure a piece of the new five-minute community
MELBOURNE, 8 OCTOBER 2018
Demand for land at one of Victoria’s newest communities, Mambourin, is so strong that Christmas sales targets have almost already been reached.
With land lots starting at just $295,000, Frasers Property Australia’s five-minute community lays claim to being one the most affordable in Victoria’s thriving western growth corridor.
The lure of affordability coupled with connectivity is driving demand, with 151 lots already sold to date against a target of 180 by Christmas.
Construction has started at the much-anticipated site, located 40km west of Melbourne’s CBD, set to transform the outer west and provide a new retail and employment hub for residents in the region.
Buyer demand has been so strong since launching in June, Frasers Property has introduced a high-tech booking system for land lot releases at Mambourin.
Sarah Bloom, General Manager - Residential Victoria, Frasers Property Australia, says the company has always been optimistic about the development’s popularity, but demand has far exceeded expectations.
“Frasers Property has recorded 151 sales already against a target of 180 up to Christmas, which reflects both the quality of the development, the outstanding lifestyle opportunities that this new community offers, and the impact of promised infrastructure to even better connect the area,” she says.
“Not only can home hunters buy land in a community that is being built from the ground up, they are accessing the ultimate in convenience where every day needs are just five minutes from their doorstep.
“The depth of Frasers Property’s experience is a key point of difference in this burgeoning new area and we believe that’s why customers are flocking to buy land at Mambourin.
“The company has a proven track record in Victoria backed by more than 90 years of experience creating homes for Australians, and its success in delivering quality communities in the west like Life, Point Cook.”
Mambourin is located on the edge of the urban growth boundary in Melbourne’s expanding west, on the existing Regional Rail Link between Werribee and Wyndham Vale.
The $440 million masterplanned community will transform 115 hectares of farm land into a thriving mixed-use hub with city-style convenience that will be home to 3,500 residents.
The first 84 land lots were secured by eager buyers on launch day on June 16, when the Mambourin Discovery Centre was also unveiled.
Mambourin will offer an unparalleled level of connectivity and amenity, with plans for an exclusive health club, a private school, a dedicated train station, a major town centre, open space, library, kindergarten and a commercial business district.
Stage 1 plans approved by Wyndham City Council feature a central 5.4 hectare wetland and park with plans for an all-ages play area, fitness nodes, walking and cycling paths, shelters, barbecues and more.
Health and wellbeing are at the heart of the new community which has been designed with a range of opportunities for outdoor activity, fitness and leisure.
“One of the biggest drawcards is an exclusive residents’ club, featuring swimming pools, a multi-use court, gym, function rooms, cafe and barbecue area,” Ms Bloom says.
“The residents’ club will provide an early hub for residents to engage in community activities, meet neighbours and build the strong social connections that are the foundations of sustainable communities.”
Plans for the Mambourin town centre include 25,000sqm of retail floor space with a full-line supermarket, a discount department store, 30-40 specialty stores and a cinema/entertainment precinct.
A display village with 25 homes is set to open in 2020.
