Sales staff inundated with buyers lured by location, range of choice
- Three townhomes left for sale in latest release
- 210 apartments already sold to date
MELBOURNE, 15 NOVEMBER 2018
Residential sales at Frasers Property Australia’s landmark Burwood Brickworks community have exceeded expectations, with more than 70 townhomes, 210 apartments and four land lots already sold.
The strong sales are the result of the first residential release at Burwood Brickworks, which officially launched to the public at a community event on October 13.
There are just three townhomes and two land lots now available to buy in the release. More than 80 per cent of the apartments released to date have sold.
Sarah Bloom, General Manager – Residential Victoria, Frasers Property Australia says the results have exceeded expectations.
“We are delighted with results so far. It shows that buyers are looking for quality, as well as real lifestyle choices,” Ms Bloom says.
“The response to the public launch was overwhelming and our sales office has been inundated with inquiries since.
“Buyers have really responded to the unique opportunity that Burwood Brickworks presents – the chance to buy a new home within walking distance to a retail and entertainment hub that is set to transform a formerly disused infill site.”
Burwood Brickworks is located 19km from Melbourne’s CBD in the highly sought-after eastern suburb of Burwood East.
Plans for the community include freestanding and semi-detached terrace housing and apartments, 16 land lots, 2.5 hectares of open space and parklands, community facilities and an urban plaza adjoining a shopping centre complete with a rooftop urban farm.
The new community will comprise approximately 700 new homes for an estimated 2,000 new residents, with the first residents expected to move in by the end of 2020.
Ms Bloom says the many buyers so far are first-home buyers and owner-occupiers. Investors are also making the most of the opportunity to buy in an established area close to Deakin University, private and public schools, and public transport.
“There is something for everyone at Burwood Brickworks and this diversity has appealed to a range of buyers,” Ms Bloom says.
“We have had families buying townhomes, couples looking to downsize by purchasing apartments, as well as singles and first-home buyers wanting to break into the market.
“Some buyers have looked at buying as an investment but have been so impressed by the quality they have decided it will be the place they want to live.”
Land lots at Burwood Brickworks range in price from $877,000 to $1.2 million. Apartment prices start at $388,000 for homes with one-bedroom, one-bathroom, car space and storage, to $733,000 for two-bedroom, two-bathroom, car space and storage. Just three semi-detached homes are available starting at $940,000 for three-bedrooms, two-bathrooms and one car space, to $1.2 million for four-bedrooms, 2.5-bathrooms and two car spaces. Future releases are expected to include a range of four and five-bedroom family homes.
The next Burwood Brickworks residential sales release is expected around April 2019.
The sales office is located at 78 Middleborough Rd, Burwood East and is open from 12pm until 5pm daily. For more information phone 13 38 38 or visit www.burwoodbrickworks.com.au.
