PFD Food Services facility win coveted Industrial Development award

SYDNEY, 5 AUGUST 2019 

Frasers Property Australia’s (Frasers Property) PFD Food Services (PFD) facility has received the highly prized Industrial Development category honour at the UDIA NSW Crown Group Awards for Excellence 2019.

The 22,208 sqm PFD warehouse, located on Muir Road in Sydney’s Inner West suburb of Chullora, is one of the most technologically advanced temperature-controlled food processing and distribution facilities in Australia.

It has received a 5 Star Green Star Design & As Built rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.

This award is a significant tribute to the team’s dedicated work to deliver a bespoke industry leading warehouse.  

“This facility also recently received the highly coveted Industrial Development accolade at the Urban Taskforce Development Excellence Awards 2019.”

He added, “The PFD project gave us the opportunity to create a state-of-the-art industrial infill development at an established location. The striking architectural design, utilising quality materials and finishes, combined with outstanding environmental credentials have greatly assisted PFD to improve its supply chain efficiencies.”

The PFD warehouse was also a finalist in the Sustainability and Environmental Technology category at the UDIA NSW Crown Group Awards for Excellence 2019.

Key building features include a technologically advanced refrigeration system and insulated building fabric; recessed dock and levellers, an ESFR sprinkler system and rain water harvesting for toilet flushing and irrigation. Power consumption is supplemented by a 750kW solar PV system on the roof, making it one of the largest single roof installations in the country.
