Harmony Day saw the Queens community come together
We celebrated Harmony Day in the streetscape at Queens Riverside on Wednesday 21st March. The event provided a great opportunity for Queens Riverside residents and the wider community to come together and celebrate cultural diversity.
Approximately 200 people attended the event enjoying a warm evening under the stars. There was an array of multicultural food trucks including Bao buns from Baolicious, Gyozas from Gyoza Joint, Satays from Satay Kings and for the sweet tooths Churro’s from Churro Central and delectable ice cream sandwiches from Stroopie and Co.
While it was difficult to choose what food to try first, there were also plenty of interactive activities such as henna hand art, arts and crafts for the kids and a plethora of live multicultural entertainment.
Highlights included the Akwaaba African Drumming Workshop, Sambanistas, Wadumbah Noongar Dance and Nga Maramara.
Harmony Day was a great success and highlighted the community spirit that exists at Queens Riverside.
