Midtown MacPark will be constructed in stages over a period of 12 years, subject to planning and development approvals.

Parkview Constructions is the builder for MAC Residences, while Richard Crookes Constructions is handling the construction for the Midtown by the Park precinct.

Midtown MacPark's masterplan sets it apart from other developments in the area. It includes a mix of approximately 3,300 apartments integrated with community facilities such as a new primary school and two childcare centres, cafes and convenience stores, pocket parks and playgrounds, a central Village Green with a pay-as-you-go commercial pool and gym, a community garden, and a community centre. The centre will run programs for all ages and interests, and will include rooms for private celebrations or public gatherings. All of these amenities are within walking distance, underpinned by world-class design.

Midtown MacPark will eventually be home to around 6,500 people and will include a diverse mix of people such as young families, singles and couples, downsizers, investors, students, local workers and more.

Midtown’s first residential building, MAC Residences has been completed with first residents moved in from late February 2024.

Midtown MacPark is an all electric, 6 Star Green Star Community with a vision to be carbon neutral in operation. All buildings are designed to target a 5-Star Green Star Design & As Built rating.

The natural turpentine forest which frames the community will be preserved and the popular Shrimptons Creek will be regenerated with new running and walking loops.

All apartments at Midtown are specifically designed to be healthier and more comfortable to live in using solar energy generated on site and with energy saving features, green roofs, shading devices and new tree plantings throughout the community. The all-electric apartments feature induction cooking, as well as energy saving features such as an energy efficient domestic hot water system and AC system, and LED lighting throughout.

Yes, Midtown will be a welcoming and connected community where residents and the wider community are encouraged to socialise and interact, enjoy the outdoor spaces, visit the shops and take advantage of the range of amenities.

This is still in the planning phase. However, it is anticipated that there will be eight retailers with a good mix of takeaway restaurants, convenience stores, cafes, hair salon, and beauty shops.

Yes, the masterplan includes several pocket parks and children’s playgrounds, as well as a central Village Green park with various community facilities available to the general public. Additionally, the popular Shrimptons Creek will be regenerated with new running, walking and cycling paths, providing even more opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoyment.

Midtown MacPark is one of the best-connected communities in Sydney, surrounded by great schools, workplaces, shopping centres, a world-class university, easy access to arterial roads, extensive public transport options including the rail and bus connections, and an easy walk to the Metro station.

Macquarie Park has a large network of bus routes with a bus interchange just 600m walk away from Midtown; and the Macquarie University Metro station is also conveniently located just 500 metres walk away. Major arterial roads, such as Epping and Herring Road, and the M2 motorway are all in close proximity as well.

Additionally, provision of a car-sharing service, as well as additional cycling lanes and bicycle storage spaces will also be constructed in Midtown, allowing local community to easily travel by bike and take full advantage of the nearby Shrimptons Creek cycleway.

The masterplan will include upgrades to local roads, new intersections, improved pedestrian and cycling links, upgrades to local infrastructure and traffic management solutions to accommodate new residents.

Midtown will include a mix of on-street and dedicated off-street parking for residents. The community is designed to be 100% walkable with intersecting paths so people can move easily throughout and leave the car at home.

There are several schools and childcare centres located near Midtown MacPark. The project itself includes a new primary school and two childcare centres, which will be integrated into the community. In addition, there are several schools and university in the surrounding area, including Macquarie University, Morling College, Epping Boys High School, Truscott Street Public School, and more.

The Montessori Academy Childcare Centre, located at the entrance of Midtown in MAC Residences, plans to open its doors by late 2024. The New South Wales Government has announced a new 750 student public primary school will be built at Midtown MacPark. Once completed the new school will cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The new vertical school will include a range of amenities including a rooftop recreation area, library, play spaces on each floor and covered outdoor leaning areas.

Market housing is private housing and is available for purchase by the public under strata title.

Affordable housing refers to dwellings that will be offered for rent to tenants who qualify for affordable rental housing under the NSW Affordable Housing Guidelines, such as key workers. This is sometimes referred to as key worker housing. At Midtown, the affordable housing will be managed by community housing provider, Mission Housing Australia.

Community housing will be owned by the NSW Government and managed by a community housing provider, which at Midtown is Mission Australia Housing. The NSW Government’s Housing Pathways system will be used to identify the people who will live in community housing.

Like many of Sydney’s great suburbs such as Balmain, Surry Hills and Potts Point, there will be community housing at Midtown. It will be an integral part of what will make Midtown a vibrant, inclusive, great place to live.

Unlike any other community, people living in community housing at Midtown will have the tailored support of a tier 1 Community Housing Provider, Mission Australia Housing.

All community housing tenants will have access to Mission Australia’s Tailored Support Coordination service to connect them with local services, education, training and employment opportunities.

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home and everyone who lives in this new mixed tenure community will have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, connect with people in the neighbourhood, and have easy access to education, transport, jobs and services in the area.

Mission Australia Housing will oversee the tenancy and property management of the community housing, delivering a full range of tailored support coordination for community housing and affordable housing residents, as well as community development services to those living in the community.
