Day Trip to Western Sydney Parklands
Unleash your sense of adventure this school holidays in Sydney’s biggest backyard. There is over 60km of trails, wide-open green spaces and beautiful bushland surrounds of Western Sydney Parklands to explore.
Lizard Log’s bushland setting is the ideal picnic backdrop and the nature-themed playground will keep the kids entertained for hours. Finish the day with a short stroll along the 1.6km Pimelea Loop and cross your fingers that Mickey’s Ice-Cream Van is there for an afternoon reward.
Head down to Ed.Square’s iPlay amusement precinct for some old fashioned fun with a modern twist. From new-age Hyper Bowling to arcade machines and the most loved redemption games, there is something for everyone!
Challenge the kids to NBA basketball or battle your mates on the latest Daytona. Parents can unleash their inner child and get in on the action or relax at Jimmy’s Bar with a cocktail or two.
Western Sydney International Experience Centre
Take the kids on a journey to discover how Western Sydney International will help shape the future of Western Sydney. Located on the airport site, this immersive experience will take you through a series of interactive stopovers where you will learn about the region and its people and understand the opportunities that will come from Australia’s first smart airport.
This once-in-a-lifetime journey is completely free and the self-guided tour can take between 10 and 45 minutes to suit your itinerary. Ending at your final destination, the airport site, you will have a clear view of the future airfield and be able to see the airport come to life.

Plan a family fun day out in the great outdoors at the Australian Botanic Garden. Start the day with a walk through 416 hectares of varying bushland, grassland and gardens. Be sure to stop by the bird hide on Lake Nadungamba and leave an hour for the kids to let their hair down in the Garden’s Playground.
If visiting on the weekend, join the Garden’s free guided tours to learn all about the flora and fauna. Relax and unwind after the tour with a picnic under the gum trees.
Travel the world one cuisine at a time at Ed.Square Town Centre’s foodie destination, Eat Street. With 25 different alfresco dining options, the marketplace is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Introduce the kids to over 20 different cuisines, including Indian at Masala Kitchen, Thai at Pepperseeds or Chinese at Baby Bao. Then wash it all down with chocolate fondue at Max Brenner or a sweet scoop from Royal Copenhagen.
