1. Dinner date at home

CoupleCooking

A romantic dinner date is always a good idea! If you're looking for something a little different this Valentine's Day, why not switch things up and stay at home for a cosy and intimate night cooking together?

You can choose a recipe that you both love or try something new. If you're feeling fancy and want to elevate your meal, seafood and steak are a classic combination for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner. Unsure where to start? Here’s a modern take on the classic surf and turf recipe to try:

Surf and Turf with Lobster Tails and Fillet Steak.

Ingredients:
2 (6 oz) filet mignon steaks
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
2 (4 oz) lobster tails
2 tbsp butter
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:
Season the steaks with salt and pepper and let them sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if desired. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
Add the lobster tails to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until they turn pink and are fully cooked. Remove the lobster tails from the skillet and let them cool.
In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
To serve, slice the steaks and the lobster tails. Place the steak on plates, top with the lobster tail, and spoon the garlic butter sauce over the top. Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Pick up your fresh seafood from Fishery and Co and succulent cuts at Nak Meats. You can also add some vegetables on the side to make it a complete meal, Ambeys Big Apple have all your fresh produce sorted. Make sure to have a nice wine to pair with your meal, you can pick up your favourite drop at Liquourland
