SYDNEY, 14 APRIL 2021

Parkview Constructions has been appointed to deliver the first apartment building at Midtown MacPark, Sydney’s next great urban neighbourhood by Frasers Property Australia.

Excavation work has already commenced on site and construction of the first building, MAC Residences is set to begin in September with completion expected in the second half of 2023.

Parkview Constructions has a proven track record of delivering high quality projects and is the builder behind some of Sydney’s most iconic residential buildings, including Sanctuary at Wentworth Point and West Village in Parramatta.

MAC Residences is proving popular with buyers of all demographics with over 170 out of 269 apartments already sold.

“The appointment of Parkview Constructions follows an extensive tender process, and we are looking forward to our vision for MAC Residences, the first building in the large-scale masterplanned community, becoming a reality,” says Nigel Edgar, General Manager Development NSW, Frasers Property Australia.

“The start of construction of the first homes is a major milestone for Midtown MacPark and we’re pleased to have a company with the local expertise and proven track record of Parkview on board to bring these new homes to life.

“This is an exciting time for the people who have already purchased at MAC Residences as well as members of the local community who are eagerly awaiting the new homes, amenities and parks coming soon to the new heart of Macquarie Park.”

Parkview Constructions Operations Manager, Glenn Moran says the company is excited to partner with Frasers Property in the creation of MAC Residences.

“MAC Residences is beautifully designed by Bates Smart and will become a local landmark for Midtown MacPark. This is the building that officially puts Midtown MacPark on the map and the start of construction is an exciting first step for this major new urban community. The entire team is excited to begin,” he says.

Construction is expected to take 26 months and will create approximately 200 jobs, with many local tradespeople, services and suppliers to be part of the team.

MAC Residences has been designed by Bates Smart. Located at the highest point of the site, the building rises up to 24 storeys with most apartments in the building offering sweeping district views, and city views on the upper levels. The building form is bold and elegant and brings a slice of Manhattan-style apartment living to the heart of Macquarie Park, while the interiors are inspired by the seasons.

Remaining one-bedroom apartments are $630,000 to $810,000 and two-bedroom apartments are $830,000 to $1,010,000. There is also one two-storey penthouse available, priced at $1,988,000, in a three-bedroom, three-bathroom layout.

Frasers Property is working with the NSW Government to deliver the $2.2 billion Midtown MacPark masterplanned mixed tenure community, which will integrate approximately 3,300 apartments with a range of community facilities including a proposed school and childcare, aged care, a new central park, pocket parks and playgrounds, a community centre, pool and gym, and all the amenities for modern living within walking distance of the homes, underpinned by world-class design.

It's one of the best-connected communities in Sydney, surrounded by great schools, workplaces, shopping centres and a world-class university, with easy access to arterial roads, and extensive public transport options including rail and bus connections. It is just 500 metres to the Metro station.

It will be developed in stages over the next 10 to 12 years but the vision is already apparent.

Frasers Property is targeting a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating for Midtown MacPark and the vision is for the community to be carbon neutral in operation. The natural turpentine forest which frames the community will be preserved and the popular Shrimptons Creek will be regenerated with new running and walking loops.

The homes at Midtown MacPark are specifically designed to be healthier and more comfortable to live in, using solar energy generated on site and with energy-saving features, green roofs, shading devices and new tree plantings throughout the community. A car share service is also planned.

The Midtown MacPark sales and display centre with on-site cafe is now open daily 11am – 4pm, located at Ivanhoe Place, Macquarie Park (off Herring Road), Macquarie Park. Alternatively, people can book an appointment by calling 13 38 38 or on the website.
