Meet Emma & Rob
When it came time for Rob and Emma Charles to purchase their first home, they had their hearts set on Sydney’s illustrious Eastern Suburbs. With Emma’s family back in her native London, the couple were eager to stay connected to Rob’s family and maintain the lifestyle they had become accustomed to while living in a long-time rental nearby.
“Botany is a really up and coming area,” explains Rob. “There are a lot of great cafes and restaurants, the beach is just around the corner, and it’s only 10km to the city so it’s easy to get around. It feels like a good investment.”
But close proximity to popular beaches and a city-edge postcode doesn’t come cheap. The first home buyers struggled to find a property that suited their needs and their budget. Until one day, a stroll between apartment viewings lead them to the display apartments at Tailor’s Walk in Botany.
“We’d looked at a few other properties and developments in the area, but when we came here the difference was really noticeable,” says Rob. “We were just blown away by the quality of the finishes in the apartments, the landscaping, and just everything that’s gone into the area. We spoke to Michelle in the sales office and she showed us around five or six apartments. It was a really great experience.”
It didn’t take long before Rob and Emma settled on the two-bedroom apartment they have now called home since December 2018. “It’s a really usable space.,” says Emma. “For first home buyers who maybe don’t have the biggest budget, you certainly get the most that you can for the price you pay.”
The couple were also pleasantly surprised by how straightforward the buying process at Tailor’s Walk was. “Being first home buyers, we didn’t really know what we were doing,” Emma admits. “The team were great at answering any questions we had, and we had a lot. They were really fantastic at supporting us through the process and making sure that we understood every step and what to expect.”
After seven months in their new home, Rob and Emma couldn’t be happier. “It’s amazing knowing that this place is ours,” says Emma. “When we were renting we didn’t really want to invest too much in big pieces of furniture because it wasn’t long term. Buying this place has really driven us to make it a home. It’s been really lovely making plans for the future.”
“We had been in the same rental for a long time but within the first few days here it felt like home,” Rob agrees.
