Community Spirit Shines on International Yoga Day at Hamilton Reach

Despite weeks of rainy weather leading to several cancelled sessions, the skies briefly cleared for a much-welcomed moment of calm and connection at Hamilton Reach. On Friday, June 21st, in celebration of International Yoga Day, ten residents gathered in the welcoming space of the Sales Centre for a special yoga session that perfectly captured the spirit of the community.

It was a refreshing mix of familiar faces and residents who hadn’t attended for some time, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The temporary shift to an indoor venue didn’t dampen spirits — if anything, it made the event feel more intimate and grounding.

The session was led by Greg Cawley of Brikman Yoga, a fellow Hamilton Reach resident whose passion for yoga and community engagement has become a cornerstone of these gatherings. Greg guided the group through a series of mindful movements and meditative breathing exercises, helping everyone reconnect with their bodies and each other.

As a special treat, attendees were gifted a free coffee voucher from Riva, the beloved local café, giving residents a chance to continue conversations and share smiles over a warm cup afterward.

In a time when unpredictable weather has kept many of us indoors, this event was a timely reminder of the strength and serenity found in coming together, rain or shine.

We look forward to more community-led initiatives like this one that bring Hamilton Reach residents together in such meaningful ways.
