New details have been released of a proposed family-friendly pub in one of southwest Sydney’s most keenly watched growth suburbs.
Planning documents prepared by Ethos Urban on behalf of developer Frasers Property, reveal the bar and restaurant proposed for Ed.Square town centre in Edmondson Park would operate Monday to Sunday, from 7am to midnight.
The strictly family-friendly pub will have 409 seats, with 340 spread across table and bar seating and 69 allocated for external seating.
The pub, which will not have gaming machines, will employ about 30 staff for food and beverage preparation, service and management.
A Frasers Property Australia spokeswoman said a tavern for the community “has always been an important part of the broader social amenity included in the masterplan for the Ed.Square Town Centre”.
“A development application has been lodged with Liverpool City Council to confirm this usage for the site and the proposed trading hours.
“There are still retail leasing opportunities available in the town centre for businesses wanting to be part of this game-changing community.”
The tenant for the pub is yet to be announced.
The first stage of the highly-anticipated Ed.Square development will open later this year, with up to 24 restaurants, bars and shops set to welcome their first patrons.
A Coles supermarket and Event Cinema complex will also be operational.
Ed.Square is being developed next to Edmondson Park railway station and promises an inner-city lifestyle in Sydney’s southwest, with a mix of housing, shops, services and open space within walking distance of homes.
Up to 700 residents are expected to move into the first apartment buildings by Christmas.
