Open space, playgrounds & cycleways
Designed to bring families together and foster the growth of a strong community spirit, Fairwater includes a wide range of first-class facilities for everyone to enjoy. Discover the serene natural surrounds, green open spaces, waterways, wetlands, cycle ways and a family friendly playground.
Green open spaces.
More than 9.5 hectares at Fairwater has been dedicated to public open space. Local flora has been retained as well as relocated to create a distinct and lush natural habitat, while tree-lined streetscapes lead to pockets of green. Shaded, family-friendly playgrounds create natural meeting places across the community, and include children’s play equipment made from natural materials as well as picnic shelters and exercise stations.
Fairwater boasts more than 1.5 hectares of ponds, wetlands and waterways. You can stroll along a boardwalk, overlook the water and wildlife from the bridge or take the little ones to a water play area especially designed and built for toddlers. Throughout the community, the broad expanse of wetlands creates a nurturing habitat for native flora and fauna, making Fairwater a unique oasis.
Bikes and prams.
Pram ways and bike tracks abound, connecting you to internal parks and waterways or directly to Harvey Park and Blacktown Showground. In addition, a dedicated ‘learn to ride’ bike path for kids provides a safe training ground for getting the hang of riding on two wheels.
A brisk walk is good for everyone. Numerous walking tracks meander through magnificent stands of trees that lead to parks, ponds and beyond.
