Bounded by Burwood Highway to the south, Middleborough Highway to the west and Elery Road to the North, the 22 hectare site will consist of up to 950 dwellings housing over 2,000 new residents, open spaces and a civic boulevard fronting the integrated retail centre. Underpinning the site, an ambitious 12,756m2 retail centre is anticipated to be a world first in sustainability and is seeking to be the world's first retail asset to achieve Living Building Challenge accreditation. Upon completion, the shopping centre will include a 4,200m2 full line supermarket with accompanying 1,400m2 liquor store, 6 screen cinema and 3,925 sq.m of mini major and specialty loorspace comprising a large proportion of food and beverage uses and retail services.
The main trade area consists of an ethnically diverse, mature and affluent population with household structures typical of that of metropolitan Melbourne. Total resident main trade area retail spending is above the Melbourne average, with noticeable growth forecast in food catering and food, liquor and grocery.
