PromenART: Shell Cove’s Community Art Trail coming soon - don't miss out!
The PromenART public art initiative has redefined the eastern promenade of Shell Cove Marina, transforming it into a vibrant cultural destination that reflects the values, diversity, and identity of the Shellharbour community.
Launched in 2023 as a multi-year collaboration between Shellharbour City Council and Frasers Property Australia, PromenART is a leading example of placemaking through public art. The project integrates large-scale murals, sculptures, and community-led artworks into the urban design of The Waterfront, helping to establish Shell Cove as a thriving destination for residents and visitors alike.
At its core, PromenART represents more than aesthetics—it imbues culture, creativity, and inclusion into the fabric of this growing coastal precinct by inviting local artists, youth groups, schools, and community organisations to contribute, the project fosters a strong sense of local ownership and connection to place.
The murals and sculptures throughout the promenade serve as visual touchstones that celebrate Shellharbour’s coastal character, First Nations storytelling, environmental themes, and inclusive community spirit.
