Living proud at Life Point Cook

Ten years ago, when Danielle Crea and her husband Maro first moved to Point Cook, it was the suburb’s up and coming status and its ease of access that made it an appealing place to put down roots.

Fast forward a decade, and the two became four, with the arrival of daughters Ava (7) and Evie (11 months). With an expanding family and a strong affinity for the area, the Creas decided they needed to upgrade into a bigger home without leaving the neighbourhood they’d grown to love so much. A visit to Frasers Property’s Life, Point Cook made their next decision an easy one. “We hadn’t really thought about building,” admits Danielle. “But when we got to the land office at Life, we just sort of looked at each other and had that lightbulb moment. We didn’t even have to say it out loud, we were both just thinking the same thing. It just felt right. Next thing you know, we were looking at display houses.”
For the Creas, building a new home over buying established meant not having to compromise on what they wanted in terms of space and style. “I think it’s that feeling of freshness, of a new start that you get with a new house. And this is definitely our dream home,” says Danielle. “I’m not saying we’ll never move again, or maybe downsize at some point in the future, but for now this is our forever home.”

A sense of belongingDespite moving just down the road from where they started out in Point Cook all those years ago, the sense of community in their new neighbourhood is markedly different. “It’s been a really nice journey with Frasers Property and getting to know our neighbours through the get-togethers that the company has hosted here,” says Danielle. “Maro and I lived in our old place for 10 years and we didn’t know anyone in our street. We knew faces of course, but not anyone to talk to. And here we know a heap of people even though we’ve only been here a short time.”

Living proud
Danielle says one of the big moments of pride for her happens every day as she drives home from work to a beautiful home in an area she loves. “I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved here - our new home of course, but especially my family - my husband and our two girls. Everyone’s happy and healthy. That might sound cliché́, but that’s what’s important.”
The new home in Life, Point Cook and a place for her girls to grow up happy and carefree has not come without its fair share of hard work and sacrifice. At the age of 35, with Ava only 18 months old, Danielle went back to university, completed her bachelor’s degree in midwifery and passed with flying colours. “Yes, that was massive,” admits Danielle. “But it’s led me to my dream job and that’s something else I’m very proud of.”

Planning for the futureResting on her laurels is clearly not in Danielle’s vocabulary and she’s busy making plans for her family’s future. “We want our girls to have a comfortable life. We’ve got an investment property down Geelong way, maybe we’ll aim for a couple of others to help set up our future even more. When the time is right for us to make our next investment, we’ll definitely start with Frasers Property, based on how good our experience has been this time around.”
