Trick-or-treating this Saturday? Add Turrun Primary School to your route. On Saturday 31 October 2026, the school is joining in the Halloween spirit as one of the local stops for Berwick Waters families out trick-or-treating. Costumes ready, lolly bags packed. Happy Halloween.

Berwick Waters is home to a genuinely active community. Case in point: Berwick Waters parkrun, it’s a free 5km every Saturday at 8am, starting at the Berwick Waters Playground. Walk it, jog it, run it, or just come along to volunteer, everyone's welcome, and there's always a coffee catch-up afterwards. Know another resident-run group we should feature? Calling all young inventors, engineers and robot enthusiasts. STEAM Fest 2026 is coming to Arthur Wren Hall in Hampton Park on Saturday 17 October 2026, 10am to 1pm, free entry. Expect a robotics exhibition, live demonstrations, and a student showcase where local kids present their own inventions and research, with prizes up for grabs. The Casey Stride Series turns 10 this year, and the first race of the season is almost here. Race 1 kicks off on 18 October 2026, with 10km and 5km options for adults (run or walk) and kids' distances down to 400m, so there's a way in for every age and ability. Two more races follow on 8 and 29 November 2026. Whether you're chasing a personal best or just up for a family morning out, this is a great one to get around.
